Over the years I’ve noticed that the ole Auburn Elvis suit has been gradually shrinking (particularly in the mid section). I always thought rayon didn’t shrink, but apparently it does. So, it’s time to sew a new suit and retire the original. If you’ll recall, when I first made the suit back in 2003, it wasn’t really intended to be specifically an Elvis-themed jumpsuit. I really just wanted something orange and blue, with tiger stripes, and that looked kinda 70’s disco. In the new suit, I’m going for a more Elvis-looking color scheme and style.
Earlier this week, we drove to several places looking for the jumpsuit pattern I used four years ago, but couldn’t find it. Apparently, it’s one of those kind of patterns that stores only carry at Halloween. Oh well, I’ll just have to dig out my old one and fake a pattern from it.
