One of Auburn’s last-minute non-conference additions to the 2007 football schedule is South Florida. As the November 8th contest draws closer, expect to see more folks jumping onto the Big (L)East bandwagon and picking South Florida to upset the Tigers.

On the one hand:

ESPN has an interesting article about the growing buzz surrounding South Florida’s sophomore quarterback, Matt Grothe (pronounced GROWTH-ee). They reference a fan site dedicated to the young Bull’s QB, aptly named: www.mattgrothe.com.

The highlight of the site is its multimedia clips. The best of which, is this (admittedly amazing) scramble away from a sure sack complete with a 22-yard pass completion against Pittsburg.

…but on the other hand:

The kid’s obviously got moves… I’ll give him that. But making plays against Pitt, Syracuse, and McNeese State, isn’t the same as making plays against Auburn. It isn’t even close. There’s no way he’s able to pull-off those kinda plays against Auburn’s defense.
