Thanks Bama. You just gave the other conferences more reason to call us all overrated. With Alabama’s lost to Louisiana-Monroe, the SEC’s total non-conference losses bumps up to six. Back in 1997, SEC teams only lost four games out-of-conference. After factoring in the extra games (in 1997, teams played 11-game seasons instead of 12-game ones), five loses was all the conference could withstand and still tie (percentage-wise) that magical 1997 season.
So thanks, Bama. You ruined it for the rest of us. Wasn’t that shiny new coach of yours suppose to help you win games like this? I guess $4 million/ year doesn’t buy as much as it used to.
