Well, it wasn’t pretty. But, in spite of the game, we had a good time. My folks are half-scholarship donors; which means, they get reserved parking and access to the hospitality dinning hall before and during the game. Their seats aren’t bad either.
Auburn Elvis was as popular as ever. And, since my wife went with me, we have lots of pictures (over 50!). Here’s the photo set on Flickr. There were quite a few kids groups there, so I spent a lot of time taking group photos. I also rubbed elbows with former Auburn coach Sonny Smith, Aubie, a few members of the Auburn band, and Jeremy from The War Eagle Reader.
The most interesting encounter was with this one girl who was with the cheerleading squads. She was so impressed with my outfit that she wanted to know where they could buy Aubie one. (Aubie routinely does short half-time skits and helps out with the Auburn Dance Team - the Tiger Paws.) She was both impressed and disappointed when I told her I’d made it myself. She then asked if I’d be willing to sell them my costume or make one for Aubie. I told her I was flattered, but that I couldn’t.
Yep, just an average Auburn Elvis outing.

Man, you should totally make them one, just make it a little different, not like he’d be wearing it all the time and I’m sure they’d pay pretty, or maybe give you some sweet game day incentives, and maybe even skits with Aubie. Personally, I’d feel hunka-hunka-honored. Good seeing you, War Eagle!
you should have soooo jumped on that opportunity!
Can you imagine the publicity?
