Welcome back to 1955 - the last time the Commodores beat the Tigers. The price of gas in 1955 was 23ยข. The price of gas last night in Nashville was $3.63. Based on this, the next time Auburn will lose to Vandy, gas will be $24.86/ gallon… so, basically, when we play them again in 2013.

I take Auburn losses pretty hard. Most times, I’ve felt like the parent of a smart kid who just brought home F’s on his report card. I’d get mad, yell at the screen, and wonder where I went wrong. Last night, those feelings changed. I now feel like the parent of a self-destructive child with a substance-abuse problem. What can I do? I love them, but it really hurts watching them throw their lives away.

Oh well, War Eagle anyway.

I know what you mean. After the game I changed my Facebook status to read that I couldn’t believe I just saw Auburn lose to Vandy. Then a friend of mine who lives in Nashville responded that she could hear the roar of the stadium from her home.

The only comeback I could think of was “I think what you heard was the sonic boom from Auburn imploding.”

But I like your stock analogy. Do you think we could blame this on the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac crisis? Maybe the NCAA will offer Auburn a bailout where they could claim a couple of extra wins this season against future overall SEC wins. Doesn’t LSU have enough championships already? I think they could spare one or two for teams like us who want more than we’re capable of delivering. The Sugar Bowl shouldn’t only be for the elite!
