For the first time in my life, Kentucky beat Auburn in football. Great. How historic. Actually, there was very little about Auburn’s loss that you couldn’t have seen last season - ineffective offense, overworked defense, sputtering special teams, and making an otherwise beatable opponent look BCS-worthy.
Seeing Auburn regress so thoroughly to last year’s pitiful station was shocking. The Arkansas loss was sad, but understandable. This one’s just downright bewildering. Where does Auburn go from here Who knows? But one thing’s sure, Chizik’s got a heck of a challenge in front of him to get Auburn back to respectability.
Well, other than the embarrassing loss, the weekend was jam-packed and very entertaining. As previously posted, the Auburn Elvis family had a full slate of activities this weekend. We patronized the Raptor Center’s Bird’s of Prey program, camped out at our tailgating spot, ate dinner at Little Italy Pizzeria (overlooking the downtown pep rally & block party), visited the Elvis exhibits at the JCS Museum, hung out with the College Kids Tailgaters, and toured the Auburn Tiger Village. This was by far, our most successful tailgating experience as a family to date.

Elvis, I was fortunate enough to run into you at the College Kids Tailgaters area in the lower quad. I am a strange bird indeed, both a UK and an Auburn fan. Wish UK had a character like you for tailgating. Very cool meeting you and seeing you make the rounds for photos with fans. Good luck and keep humpin’.
