Well, another season of hope has arrived. Number One Son and I took in the Arkansas State game, Saturday night. It was really nice to be back in Jordan-Hare. The game was the usual mix of good and bad. Cam Newton certainly looks to be all he’d promised to be. And, judging by Florida’s shaky offensive performance, there are probably more than a few Gators out there who wish Cam was still wearing that other orange and blue. Overall, I’m still encouraged about this team’s potential (at least, until they visit Starkville Thursday). Sure, the defense looked average, but it was a run-stopping-kind of average. That’s the kind of average we can build on in the SEC.

Also, I have to give a big shout-out/ thank you to the fine ladies at the Auburn Ticket Office. Every year, I request better seat assignments, and this year, they REALLY out did themselves. Last year, we were in row 36. This year, we’re sitting in row 15. We’re still in the south endzone, but we’re so close to the action, we can’t complain. For example, that Kodi Burns TD was right in my face. Awesome!

I can’t wait to see how we fare in Thursday night’s trap game against Mississip(p)i* State. It’s gonna be a barn-burner.

War Eagle, Baby!
