Well, at least it wasn’t 3 to 2.
But it was a fun one to watch as Auburn did just enough to secure a tough SEC win. Cam looked pretty good in his first SEC start. The real story however, was the improvement on defense. Nick Fairly was incredible in the first half. Overall, Auburn looked great (and also not-so-great), but a win’s a win, and I’m glad to get out of this trap game alive. Bring on that team from “Auburn, with a lake.”
It’s a real shame my personal favorite, Lee Ziemba, got hurt, but Auburn’s other standout lineman, Ryan Pugh, had the block of the night week on that throughback-pass to Newton. Also, something tells me Special Teams Coach, Jay Boulware, better be updating his résumé. Tonight’s ST performance almost cost Auburn the win.
